Richard Whittaker Austin Chronicle It's a soft, sad, yet insistent message that, even as the grass overtakes the baseball pitch where Adam practices, and even as the last windmills slow their spin, becomes a quiet voice of hope. Rated: 3/5 Jan 22, 2021 Full Review Rich Cross Starburst The reflective atmosphere of this personal diary is enhanced by a melancholic soundtrack, and an array of haunting and arresting visuals of a 'man alone' courtesy of cinematographer Frank Turiano. Rated: 3/5 Feb 18, 2021 Full Review Tom Meek Cambridge Day In the end, it feels quite meta without any punch. Rated: 2/4 Jan 23, 2021 Full Review Paul Grammatico Dread Central Despite wanting more from the story, the film, with its wonderful imagery, soundtrack, and strong performances, provides a landscape of loneliness. Rated: 3.5/5 Jan 16, 2021 Full Review Dennis Harvey 48 Hills ...well-shot and edited. But its obfuscation soon begins to seem mannered and dull, once we realize it has no intention of "going anywhere," beyond providing 95 minutes of excuses for Knapp to wander around looking confused and soulful... brad p Despite wanting more from the story, the film, with its wonderful imagery, soundtrack, and strong performances, provides a landscape of loneliness. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member I kinda liked it . One thing that bothered me a bit was the extent he went to bring back a sense of normality . I get you’d want to make life seem a bit more normal but you wouldn’t be clocking yourself into work and ringing yourself up at the grocery store counter 2.5 Also who runs the bases alone at a baseball field what are you 10 Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 03/20/21 Full Review Audience Member Alex Knapp has written, directed and acted in this movie. He created scenes that adds nothing to the story (whatever the heck that was supposed to be). The only thing it did add was something for Alex to admire himself in. Perhaps he spanks his monkey while watching himself wander over the same scenes time and time again. "Oh look at me in this scene" he says to himself. "Don't I look so damned good and actorly (?) in this scene...and in this scene...in all these scenes!" And as he looks around the darkened projector room for agreement, he realises he's the only one in there! "Doesn't the reverb guitar add to my 'ordinary guy but a damned cool one' appearance?" Silence. "Can someone hand me a tissue. I've gluped!" Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/17/23 Full Review Audience Member DO NOT waste your time or money on this film. It is an abject failure. It commits the ultimate sin: boredom. The writing is slow and predictable. Scenes last too long and just repeat the same message over and over: this character is lonely and probably insane. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/31/23 Full Review Audience Member A deft feature debut with strong cinematography and a compelling mystery narrative.
