Nick Schager Village Voice A suspense-free stroll through rural landscapes where rarely-seen-onscreen dogs are the only real danger. Jan 11, 2017 Full Review Don Shanahan Every Movie Has a Lesson There is a keen storytelling advantage to be found in that, where the tension is more suggested than overt and preposterous. Rated: 3/5 Oct 14, 2024 Full Review Emilie Black Cinema Crazed Go North is a slightly different take on post-apocalyptic movies that creates a very realistic setting for its story and believable characters and situations. Rated: 3.5/5 Apr 19, 2020 Full Review Maitland McDonagh Film Journal International A seriously sub-par Hunger Games knockoff. Jan 12, 2017 Full Review David James We Got This Covered Though flawed, clunky and a bit Instagram-chic, Go North is an intriguing parable about how the next generation deals with the mess baby boomers have left behind. Rated: 6/10 Jan 11, 2017 Full Review Louis Proyect Counterpunch.org An update of "Lord of the Flies" taking place in a post-apocalyptic Detroit rather than a Pacific island. A much better example of this genre than the Mad Max franchise. Jan 10, 2017 Full Review Read all reviews

Audience Member Slow-moving post-apocalyptic drama. Created an interesting atmosphere though. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/14/23 Full Review Audience Member I post apocalyptic film where everyone over the age of 20 mysteriously disappears and all that is left are the young ones to live. A band of kids came together at the school to work together and are led by an iron fist of jocks. Growing sick of the way they are treated, Josh and Jessie venture out to try and find something better up north. Its Lord of the Flies meets The Road. Go North was shot in a rundown area of Detroit and the cinematography is great. Unfortunately the acting and writing takes the brunt of my negatives. It's not a bad film but its just an OK film. I also found it odd that most of the kids are pretty well kept even though they are alone for sometime in a post apocalyptic time. Go North is just alright, can't recommend it nor not recommend it. Watch Go North at your own discretion. You may really like it. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/26/23 Full Review Read all reviews
