There’s no solace to be found here or any reprieve other than the respectable yet forceful condemnation of the zealots depicted. It makes for a powerful effort that’s less successful in its attempts to infuse a fictional horror movie with true crime.

A possession movie that transcends possession. A raw, unflinching take on the real back story of what leads to the fictional reason zealots believe an exorcism is the only course to take, one that masks an underlying mental illness until it's too late. Heartbreaking and heartwrenching. This is a film that will stick with you for a long time.

This is certainly not the best exorcism movie ever made, but it certainly isn't the worst. Whilst it is generally well-acted and has some creepy moments, this Aussie horror won't satisfy a good portion of fans of the genre.
