Naoya Fujita IGN Movies Godzilla: City on the Edge of Battle takes some promising ingredients, but cooks them into an unpalatable meal. Rated: 4.5/10 Mar 3, 2021 Full Review Alix Turner Ready Steady Cut Second in the new anime Godzilla trilogy, this film centres on an attempt to reclaim Earth from a monster bigger than any seen before. A lot of strategizing and philosophising... but it does get very exciting! Rated: 3.5/5 Feb 2, 2021 Full Review Panos Kotzathanasis Asian Movie Pulse "Godzilla: City on the Edge of Battle" is a great second part for the trilogy, which surpasses the first part almost in all aspects, while the progression of the story cannot but leave the audience hungry for more. Nov 30, 2019 Full Review Tim Brayton Alternate Ending It feels like the middle third of a story, no doubt; but the middle-third of, like, a 100-minute story, not a middle-third that is 100 minutes in and of itself. Rated: 2/5 Jun 27, 2019 Full Review Jon Lyus HeyUGuys (Written by James Perkins) An interesting but ultimately slow sequel that somehow still manages to set up for a thrilling finale. Definitely for hardcore fans rather than newcomers. Rated: 3/5 Jun 4, 2019 Full Review Read all reviews

Dimitris T As a direct continuation of the previous film, Godzilla: City on the Edge of Battle develops its characters as much as its complex and magnificent lore. Instead of a typical approach demanding monster VS monster battles, it creates tension through plot twists and serious moral issues that leave you thinking simultaneously with observing the plot's progress. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 07/22/24 Full Review Timmy S Storylines are getting more boring and complicated, the question is where is Mechagodzilla who’s here to against Godzilla Earth, that’s actually worse human anime characters than the first one in last year Rated 2 out of 5 stars 06/29/24 Full Review josh d Not really good at all. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 06/09/24 Full Review Patrick L This was one of my favourite Godzilla movies. Visually pleasing, with great philosophical dilemmas and jaw dropping finale. Reimagining of Mechagodzilla as a city was spot on. It goes without saying, Takayuki Hattori wiped the floor with the soundtrack. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 03/29/24 Full Review Zukirin I honestly like this too, it didn't bored me because I'm hooked about the story on what they're planning and what they're saying. I'm not just a Godzilla fan who wants a fight immediately in under 10 minutes haha. Same opinion in this movie just like the first one, I liked the strategy that they did in this film too even though it's just a bit different in the first one but I liked it so 4.5 stars! Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/11/24 Full Review letaiser Also not good ,like the first one there where like ten minutes that weren't bad and quite enjoyable but after all still awful even worse than the first because it didn't made sense and like the first it almost had nothing to do with the original movie Rated 1 out of 5 stars 10/05/23 Full Review Read all reviews
