Godzilla: City on the Edge of Battle takes some promising ingredients, but cooks them into an unpalatable meal. Go to Full Review

Second in the new anime Godzilla trilogy, this film centres on an attempt to reclaim Earth from a monster bigger than any seen before. A lot of strategizing and philosophising... but it does get very exciting! Go to Full Review

"Godzilla: City on the Edge of Battle" is a great second part for the trilogy, which surpasses the first part almost in all aspects, while the progression of the story cannot but leave the audience hungry for more. Go to Full Review

It feels like the middle third of a story, no doubt; but the middle-third of, like, a 100-minute story, not a middle-third that is 100 minutes in and of itself. Go to Full Review

(Written by James Perkins) An interesting but ultimately slow sequel that somehow still manages to set up for a thrilling finale. Definitely for hardcore fans rather than newcomers. Go to Full Review

Nov 16 Probably one of the most underrated Godzilla movies. This one’s a vast improvement over the previous movie. The scientific yimmer yammer that padded Planet of the Monsters’ runtime is trimmed down here, although it still rears its ugly head enough to annoy. The plot is pretty simple but still entertaining, with more interesting drama and adventure this time. The finale of this movie is absolutely gorgeous both visually story-wise, so definitely worth a watch for that if for nothing else. Overall very underrated movie that does not stick to Godzilla tradition at all. See more Vincent W @Gojirilla5419 Sep 21 Worst of the trilogy, absolutely hate it. See more Dimitris T 07/22/2024 As a direct continuation of the previous film, Godzilla: City on the Edge of Battle develops its characters as much as its complex and magnificent lore. Instead of a typical approach demanding monster VS monster battles, it creates tension through plot twists and serious moral issues that leave you thinking simultaneously with observing the plot's progress. See more Timmy S 06/29/2024 Storylines are getting more boring and complicated, the question is where is Mechagodzilla who’s here to against Godzilla Earth, that’s actually worse human anime characters than the first one in last year See more josh d 06/09/2024 Not really good at all. See more Patrick L 03/29/2024 This was one of my favourite Godzilla movies. Visually pleasing, with great philosophical dilemmas and jaw dropping finale. Reimagining of Mechagodzilla as a city was spot on. It goes without saying, Takayuki Hattori wiped the floor with the soundtrack. See more Read all reviews
