Khaliel P GMK: Giant Monsters All-Out Attack (2001) marks yet another reboot, erasing prior films while acknowledging the 1954 original and even mocking Roland Emmerich’s American Godzilla. Here, Godzilla is reimagined as a supernatural embodiment of nuclear victims’ souls, opposed by guardian monsters Mothra, Baragon, and—surprisingly—King Ghidorah as a hero for the first and only time. Brutally violent, with Godzilla killing indiscriminately, the film also delivers some of the best effects in the franchise: a terrifying new suit, expressive animatronics, and well-integrated CGI. While its repetitive synthesizer score is underwhelming, GMK stands out as one of the boldest and most striking entries in Godzilla’s history.
