Audience Member Underrrated by critics for No reason Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Audience Member Post independence, Tapan Das, the manager of the Indian hockey team, faces several obstacles as he prepares his team for the upcoming Olympics in the hope of winning a gold medal for the hockey . It is very old type movie. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/12/23 Full Review Audience Member What a let-down, the movie had potential, but the stupid script, direction and over the top acting ruined it all. The plot revolves around the first gold medal won by the Independent India hockey team, the movie does its best in trying to veer away from reality whenever it can. I believe the only thing which they stayed true to was, India did undergo partition and we did win the gold but the journey to it as shown in the movie was all hogwash. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 01/13/23 Full Review Audience Member Underdog story, Predictable ending, but still well made film Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/10/23 Full Review Audience Member Akshay and his players save this rather exhausting biography. Gold runs mainly on Tapan(Akshay) who is drunkard manager of the Indian Hockey team. His attempts to give India a Olympic gold medal and barriers developed in his mission have been depicted in the movie. Akshay's on and off beat Bengali language developed irritation and so does Mouni Roy's.His screen sharing with Roy is also not a good choice. Moreover the movie gives us little reason to take Akshay seriously and thus makes it hard to believe why he is so important for the team. Amidst all the negativity, it's the game that will keep you sitted.Thrilling matches and extraordinary background scores are some plus points. Above all, Gold is an overcooked sports that has nothing to offer without exciting game play. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/18/23 Full Review Audience Member Bad Bengali accent by Akshay Kumar Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/17/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Anupama Chopra Film Companion Inconsistencies and the exhausting length weigh down Gold. But Reema ably pulls the loose threads together in the thrilling climactic match. Rated: 3/5 Aug 24, 2018 Full Review Mike McCahill Guardian Spry, stirring entertainment... Rated: 4/5 Aug 17, 2018 Full Review Poulomi Das Arré For a film about sport, Gold treats hockey as a mere formality in service of an Akshay Kumar vanity project. Mar 11, 2019 Full Review Rahul Desai Film Companion Some of the writing is needlessly perfunctory. Rated: 1.5/5 Aug 24, 2018 Full Review Sucharita Tyagi Film Companion I'm very very impressed with Sunny Kaushal, and I hope to see much more of this earnest actor in the future.
