Ella H. McCormick Detroit Free Press It is a production which everyone should see, for it represents the latest word in the fast-moving progress of the new show world of the screen and provides the most lavish, beautiful and satisfying entertainment the screen has yet offered. May 20, 2021 Full Review Irene Thirer New York Daily News All in all, this makes merry talkie-singie-dancie fare and the beauty of its color again reaches pictorial splendor. Rated: 3/4 May 20, 2021 Full Review Edwin Schallert Los Angeles Times Ann Pennington's dancing. Lilyan Tashman's "English" drawl. Miss Foster's rather winning, sweetness, and Gertrude Short's occasionally amusing comments are other facets of interest in a picture that Is light and diverting. May 20, 2021 Full Review C.A. May 20, 2021 Full Review Edgar Waite San Francisco Examiner Gold Diggers of Broadway lacks the human quality that On With the Show had, and the acting is stilted, except for that of Albert Gran, Lilyan Tashman and Conway Tearle. May 20, 2021 Full Review Martin Dickstein Brooklyn Daily Eagle Gold Diggers of Broadway is set off by some of the most gorgeous stage trappings that have been seen in these parts for a long time, and it is these settings which give the picture a certain visual beauty. Audience Member The best movie song ever sung: Tiptoe Thru the Tulips with Me! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/26/23 Full Review Audience Member This as a box office sensation making Winnie Lightner a worldwide star featuring two songs that became 20th century standards, "Tiptoe Through the Tulips," and "Painting the Clouds with Sunshine." For the time, it was considered very good entertainment on screen. The color process was lauded as were the songs. The story itself was generally amusing even if not particularly substantial.
