Raymond (Henry Thomas) is hunting in the North Carolina woods when he comes across an abandoned infant. Scooping her into his arms, he heads into town, a place he rarely goes, and knocks on doors trying to find the parents. He briefly runs into Truman (David Strathairn), a creepy traveling salesman hawking his wares. The two men go their separate ways, but, as Raymond becomes more attached to the baby, Truman becomes more obsessed, and they seem destined for a climactic encounter.

05/23/2013 i really liked this movie. you feel for the main characters and the struggles they are up against. it is sad in parts but worth watching. See more 11/03/2009 Pleasant and moving film. It is a little slow moving, but it fits in with the backwards North Carolina setting. Henry Thomas gives a surprisingly effective performance. He is sensitive, touching and fully convincing in the role. See more 10/17/2009 Ackward, slow, and underrated! This movie is fantastic! and Henry Thomas played his role so well!
