CJ J Rarely do you comes across a film, whether an indie or something from a major studio that achieves the lofty standards set by "Good Guy with a Gun". As an aficionado of film, it's easy to see that in today's film world, quality and originality has taken a beating. The opposite is true here, however. This film combines a magnificent script, uniformly outstanding acting from its large cast, expert direction, and stellar production values. Special shout-out to John LaFlamboy. His performance easily outshines supporting roles that have previously won Oscars. He's just terrific in his role as a detective. Furthermore, the issues addressed in this film are smart, necessary, and decidedly un-P.C., which is a welcome relief from vanilla, cookie-cutter offerings that are typical in today's media. There are messages subtle and extreme, and the actors convey the scripts nuances with genuine aplomb. Bravo/brava to them all. Writer/director/producer/actor John Mossman has ascended to auteur status with this film, and if there aren't multiple "Best-of" awards in GGWAG's future, something is terribly, awfully wrong. This film is THAT good, and deserving of every syllable of praise from audiences across the world. At times taut and intense, even frightening, and at other times warm, tender, funny, and beautifully human. This film definitely hits above its weight; gorgeous cinematography, direction, sound design, editing, music, and fantastic performances by a talented ensemble of actors. And its artfully nuanced approach to such a divisive issue in our country, a subject matter that will sadly remain relevant for years to come, gives this movie greater purpose and value beyond pure entertainment. John Mossman (Director, Screenwriter, Producer, Actor) and his ensemble did a fantastic job in this film noir about our issues of today concerning gun violence and gun culture, teenage angst, and other societal issues. The cast is wonderful, and I mean truly wonderful. The dialogue is real and compelling and the cinematography is excellent. Bravo John Mossman and the whole movie crew and the film distributors as well. Good Guy with a Gun has won numerous awards in film festivals around the world and it is justly finally presented to a much larger audience! I predict John Mossman and his fellow creatives involved with this film will continue their upward trajectories providing entertainment, and exploring social issues to great effect. Again, Bravo!!!
