Sean S I truly believe this is the perfect blend of a coming of age movie with raunchy humor. Does a great job of developing characters and at the same time getting some great laughs at some pretty good jokes. I'm gonna be one in the minority that actually believes this is one of the better coming of age romantic comedy movies out there Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 08/21/23 Full Review Yuri B Honestly I'm surprised but how much I really enjoyed this. I mean Andy was a real hypocritical POS. But the rest of the crew was cool as hell. Especially Lion, he was the **** I really wish I had that kind of friend when I was in school. And Spice had a real good heart, a tremendously good natured cat. Could definitely watch this again. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/22/23 Full Review Audience Member I picked out this movie because the cast has people I like. They mostly delivered, with Nicholas Braun and Zoey Deutch standing out. However, the plot is generic, it's not all that funny, and the love story is bland. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/14/23 Full Review steve d Frustrating because it is so close to being a good movie and squanders it on lazy sex jokes. Zoey Deutch shows her talent and should become a huge star. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member Nothing against the acting but the plot is juvenile, relying on shallow characters and stupidity to connect with the audience. I personally could not get passed the fact that so much of the plot was predicated on full fledged adults sexually pursuing high schoolers, presented as an attempt at humor. Yuck. Michael Rechtshaffen Los Angeles Times Plays like third-rate Richard Linklater, minus the acclaimed filmmaker's eye for keenly observed characters and ear for realistic dialogue. Oct 20, 2016 Full Review Elizabeth MacLeod The Playlist An average, uneven, coming-of-age flick with decent performances. Rated: C Nov 4, 2016 Full Review Todd Jorgenson Cinemalogue ... has some amusing moments of awkward silliness, yet the jokes eventually become more lazy and obnoxious while the plotting turns predictable. Oct 21, 2016 Full Review David Noh Film Journal International Nothing very original here, but it's well played and shot, capturing one summer's hectic span for four kids about to enter college. Oct 21, 2016 Full Review Al Alexander The Patriot Ledger It's not a great first feature for McCoy, but it's surely a competent one that speaks loudly -- and somewhat profanely -- to a budding talent with intriguing possibilities. Rated: B- Oct 20, 2016 Full Review Brian Orndorf Blu-ray.com While a comedy, the picture offers few laughs, generally avoiding any basis in reality to become a cartoon with the occasional blip of sensitivity.
