      What to Know

      Critics Consensus

A shortage of laughs and an undercurrent of mean-spiritedness undermine Good Luck Chuck, squandering a decent premise on gross-out humor and shopworn slapstick.

Jameson H This movie was awesome!!! Anyone that gave it a low rating and bad review are morons!!! It was hilarious and cute and great writing with an original storyline. I own this movie and can't get enough of it! Everyone should give this movie a chance. I'm telling you that it won't disappoint! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/24/24 Full Review Ram L This movie is so lovable, the 5% on the Tomatometer is utterly incomprehensible! Formulaic, silly, pointless—yes, but that's almost part of the point. No laugh-out-loud moments? A few here and there. Continual, little snorts of laughter? Sure. There's no "gross-out" humor per se, the sexual stuff isn't as ridiculous or excessive as it's made out to be, there's nary a boring moment from beginning to end, Jessica Alba is absolutely gorgeous, there's so much fun, silly stuff you need to... well, drop your left-brain IQ in a heap on the floor and grab a huge bag of popcorn and just have lots of fun! Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/11/24 Full Review Rami A Who was this dirty and stupid movie made for? Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 10/27/23 Full Review White W Use the force, see past the review bombing by the dark side. It's not worth 5 stars and it doesn't deserve all of the 1 stars either; it is a solid 3.5 90s/early 00s man has tough time until he meets the right woman. There's nothing wrong with the tropes, the stereotypes, or the raunchy humor. People are too sensitive for movies. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/13/23 Full Review Flowers ive watched this terrible movie at least 20 times and i dont even know why it doesnt even make my boyfriend happy and he loves all shitty romcoms we just keep putting it on and then staring in misery for no reason, points for penguins though i love those guys Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 09/06/23 Full Review Zach L typical hilarious romcom of the past with coarse humor a spell and some nudity Guite good Rated 3 out of 5 stars 08/26/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Mark Bourne Film.com What isn't forgivable, though, is being boring, and Good Luck Chuck has all the engaging magnetism of an unflushed toilet. Jan 15, 2008 Full Review Derek Malcolm London Evening Standard Crude, vulgar and dispiriting to watch. Rated: 1/5 Nov 9, 2007 Full Review Anthony Quinn Independent (UK) Shoddily written. Rated: 1.5/4.0 Sep 9, 2020 Full Review Sarah Manvel Cinemattraction It's a poor rom-com which leaves you hoping the cute couple doesn't get it together. Despite valiant attempts to get the audience laughing again, the movie doesn't recover from turning so unexpectedly and completely sour.
