Pop-star duo Sonny (Sonny Bono) and Cher (Cher) star in this parody of Hollywood B-movie clichés, helmed by director William Friedkin. Given the opportunity to headline their own feature film by studio executive Mr. Mordicus (George Sanders), Sonny and Cher have three days to come up with an idea for a hit movie or they'll have to use the studio's hackneyed script. Each of the duo's movie concepts, including a jungle thriller and an old-fashioned Western, features Sanders as the villain.

Roger Ebert Chicago Sun-Times Good Times is no classic, but in ambition and achievement it's better than most movies of its type. Rated: 2.5/4 Oct 23, 2004 Full Review Matt Brunson Film Frenzy As for Sonny Bono's acting talents, let's just say he makes Ringo Starr look like Daniel Day-Lewis by comparison. Rated: 2/4 Nov 2, 2020 Full Review Emanuel Levy EmanuelLevy.Com Sonny and Cher's only movie together, a minor, self-referential flick in which they play themselves, represents the feature debut of William Friedkin, who four year later won the Oscar for The French Connection Rated: C Nov 5, 2010 Full Review Wesley Lovell Apollo Guide Viewers should be significantly disappointed in Sonny and Cher's only film together, as it is certainly not, as the title suggests, good times. Rated: 39/100 Mar 27, 2005 Full Review David Nusair Reel Film Reviews The movie's incredibly thin storyline seems to exist for the sole purpose of allowing Sonny and Cher to sing a lot of silly pop songs and appear in cheesy sketches. Audience Member Four years before their hit variety show.Showacses Sonny as a want to be movie star but Cher's heart wasn't in it.The sketches almost play out like the VAMP segment. The pop songs through out moved the story along. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/16/23 Full Review jack c Well... I remember George Sanders as a villainous kung fu master so hence the rating. and there's songs too I think Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Decent Comedy starring Sonny and Cher as themselves. As we find them selves in various skits of various types of moves (mainly from daydreams of Sonny). Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/31/23 Full Review Audience Member I can't believe I actually watched this one, but it is part of the start to my "William Friedkin" directed collection I'll be watching over time here. I actually really enjoyed some of the music in this film, and I love Sonny and Cher's vocals above all else, but the film really is a total mess. Somewhat of a nice mess to look at, but overall, it's nothing to really recommend unless you are a hardcore fan of the characters at play here. Also, you do see some of William Friedkin's stamp on this. More so if you are aware of his film that come later in his career. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Audience Member Vintage Sonny & Cher. Fun, silly. Thats what the 60's were all about. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/07/23 Full Review Audience Member This is a good but strange movie. Cher is quite interesting in her first movie. She obviously has picked up the acting chops to be the Oscar and Golden Globe winner that she is but she was a kid in this movie. Interesting plot line.
