Perfect fodder for a late-night audience, UK/Irish co-production Grabbers, directed by Jon Wright, is a fun ride, and while it doesn't reinvent the "Tremors" and Slither modern-b-movie wheel, it adds a few neat touches to that formula.

As an aficionado of Irish science fiction parodies that dip into the ridiculous,* I really, really loved this film. The premise was great and the drinking scenes greater. Hollywood should take note because after "Grabbers" and "Apocalypse Clown," Ireland has now become the new home of great cinema. *Honestly, I've only seen "Grabbers" and "Apocalypse Clown."

Some of the lead actors were quite capable. I thought the movie started well but after a while it switched to a comedy... wasn't my sense of humour and it really changed the vibe. The story didn't progress in a very cohesive way.

Human eating aliens who are vulnerable to alchohol make the mistake of landing in Ireland. Another humorous horror film from Ireland. There are some great special effects and certainly somewhere along the line Lovecraft influenced the design. Boys from County Hell is better but, still, Recommended
