Matt Brunson Creative Loafing Swayze manages to create some sympathy for his character, but everything else about this picture, from the tepid romantic triangle to the awkward music-video segments, barely rises above silly. Rated: 2/4 Sep 25, 2016 Full Review David Nusair Reel Film Reviews ...a forgettable bit of '80s nostalgia. Timothy T Loved the cast and characters. The story is solid and it's a very satisfying film from 1984. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 06/02/24 Full Review Steve D A mixed bag but when it works it really works. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 08/24/23 Full Review David D I love this movie. I have to say I do have a bias because of the fact that it was filmed in my family's hometown. Pontiac Illinois. So it brings back a lot of good memories for me even though the movie isn't that great. I've seen worse! Rated 4 out of 5 stars 07/29/23 Full Review Jerod S A Dramedy, I missed this movie when going through the 80s phase a long time ago. Nothing really to report...just a good ole time american story / coming of age / relational mayhem kind of flick. Some young stars before they really got going. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 03/07/23 Full Review Audience Member This film about the love triangle between a teen (C. Thomas Howell) an older woman (Jamie Lee Curtis) and a married demolition derby driver (Patrick Swayze) has some good moments but mostly falls flat. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/20/23 Full Review Audience Member Lacklustre but oddly enjoyable bit of 1980s silliness. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/27/23 Full Review Read all reviews
