The filmmakers toss subtlety out the window in favor of fun, in your face chills that stick their landing. They also know how to stretch their meager budget; the ghosts of past patients in this asylum play a major role in inducing goosebumps.

The filmmakers seem unaware that they're beating a dead horse. As the uniformly annoying characters stumble around, screaming and cursing, we don't give a hoot for their survival.

The pacing is good and the scares are effective even on a repeat watch... All in all, it is a good scary movie, it’s a fun time, but as you watch it multiple times it gets less effective.

I loved how the first act parodies those fake TV ghost-hunting shows, but the moment the crew tries to leave and finds endless hallways where the front exit used to be, the dread really sets in. Some of the CGI demon faces look a bit dated now, but the psychological trap of the building makes up for it. Surprisingly solid found footage.

I just found out about this movie recently, I watched it. It's nice, not like other movies that keep repeating about ghosts in their house, this one pretty different for me. It's successfully giving me nightmares, I also love the ending, the type of bad endings that I love. Unfortunately, this movie is not well known, I hope it can have a chance to be viral just one time.
