As elderly mogul Grissly Morgan Palmor (Robert Barrat) is on the verge of dying, a group of heirs rushes to his estate to stake a claim to his fortune. He decides to leave it to his granddaughter, Katherine (Virginia Grey), who's been taking care of him. Matters get complicated when her estranged husband, Lewis (Paul Fix), arrives and Katherine finds her grandfather dead. With the help of a conniving lawyer and an amorous policeman (Paul Kelly), she tries to find the culprit.
