Gianvito A The one i liked less, i still like it but i expected more Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 12/08/23 Full Review philip v Nothing like the previous two in the series, the story is odd at best, suddenly Kayako has a sister and there is a way to stop the curse??? Nothing really feels original it is just an idea of the directors as of how to "complete" an already good if not perfect story. Spoiler the curse doesn't really go away instead the daughter takes Kayako's curse but still the characters and story telling is boring and feels very out of the series' theme. TL;DR: A bad American adaptation. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member This movie is worse than the second movie. It is boring and has nothing to it. More stupid characters, boring scenes that fill the movie, and barely scary deaths by or not the Grudge. The movie has nothing to it and it has no enjoyment to it. I did like the gangster in the movie who killed his family, he was cool (literally). I liked his swag and how he walks. (Sorry I just had to). This movie is stupider than stupid. I rate this movie a 3/10 (Bad). Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/10/23 Full Review justin t Looked fine. Couldn't complain at all. The violence wasn't too gory but it seemed more effective that way. Good solid sound. Nothing exciting but nothing bad. Could have been much more imaginative. I didn't enjoy it as much as the others. The scares were rather lame (no-one in the bed or a hoodie). I liked the acting I guess and the story wasn't terrible although nothing new to the series. The weakest of the first 5! They seemed to avoid the winning formula. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member I don't understand how this is not as popular as the first 2, the movie had good suspense and good scares and its totally worth watching, so i am gonna give this a 5 Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/11/23 Full Review Audience Member if the other film had no reason to be watched this one has much less. Matthew Rozsa matthewrozsa.com Watched on its own, "The Grudge 3" is a disappointment; viewed after a better horror film - such as "Saw VI," also released in 2009 - and it teaches valuable lessons. Rated: 1.25/4 Jan 2, 2021 Full Review Brian Costello Common Sense Media Violence, gore, cursing in predictable sequel. Rated: 2/5 Feb 7, 2020 Full Review Heather Wixson Dread Central The Grudge 3 isn't perfect, and sometimes the film feels like it's trying a little too hard to emulate Shimizu's work. Ultimately though, the 3rd act left me feeling like the series had finally come to a satisfying resolution. Rated: 3/5 Aug 10, 2011 Full Review Steve Biodrowski Cinefantastique Perhaps the most perplexing cinematic mystery of the new millenium is why and how Ghosthouse Productions managed to run their Grudge franchise into the depths of the direct-to-video abyss so quickly.
