Phil Hoad Guardian A snappily directed and intriguing entrée to the industry of online deception. Rated: 3/5 Sep 4, 2023 Full Review James Marsh South China Morning Post No More Bets takes an idiotic approach to addressing the problem [of online scamming], propelled by histrionic scaremongering and xenophobia before leaning into some unintentionally hilarious championing of the Chinese police force. Rated: 1/5 Sep 27, 2023 Full Review Whang Yee Ling The Straits Times (Singapore) Tense but xenophobic. Rated: 3/5 Sep 15, 2023 Full Review Casey Chong ScreenHK [A] consistently engaging [crime thriller]. Rated: 3.5/5 Sep 7, 2023 Full Review Carla Hay Culture Mix No More Bets has more than enough drama and suspense in this vigorous condemnation of gambling scammers who ruin people's lives in predatory ways. The movie does not exaggerate gambling addiction but does exaggerate some of the police scenarios. Sep 5, 2023 Full Review Read all reviews

Ronald S A thrilling yet informative show that seeks to educate viewers while delivering a compelling narrative. The cast excelled in portraying the raw emotions and challenges faced by individuals caught in such dire situations. Moreover, the show does an excellent job highlighting the scam pandemic in the South-East Asian region and the complexities of combating it. While the depiction of police capabilities might be somewhat exaggerated due to jurisdictional and legal constraints, this doesn’t significantly detract from the overall impact of the show. I’ve noticed criticisms about xenophobia and the show being labeled as merely a public health warning. These critiques seem misplaced—simple research would clarify concerns about xenophobic representation, and dismissing these facts appears to reflect a tendency for some to engage in social justice activism. Furthermore, movies can effectively serve dual purposes, both as storytelling tools and as public health warnings, without compromising their value on either ends. I highly recommend watching this with an open mind to appreciate the important messages it conveys. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/19/25 Full Review Read all reviews
