Christopher C Guest Artist is a film that isn't recommended for everyone. I feel like if you're a creator in some way that you will find the joy and heart in this picture. Jeff Daniels is absolutely incredible playing a Pulitzer price winning playwright, Jacob Harris. Jacob hasn't written anything in a very long time and has since turned into an alcoholic. He has now been sent to Michigan to write for a local theater company in a town "no one comes to if they don't have to". I have long been a fan of Jeff Daniels acting. It doesn't surprise to me to know that he wrote the script to this and the play that it's based in. Moreover, I am writing this unintentionally in a shirt of Jeff Daniels in his best role in my opinion as Colonel Joshua Chamberlain in "Gettysburg". I think everyone dreams of being in the situation that Kenneth Waters (played by Thomas Macias) was in. A chance to have your hero- your inspiration- read some of your work. And the man himself of course is both everything you pictured and nothing like you pictured. The film mostly takes place in one setting which absolutely benefits it; however, I can see that being a negative to the average movie goer. But for the creators of the world I think you will see this as the love letter to us all that it was. 6.8 Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/10/24 Full Review John H Did not like the movie. Boring and looks depressing. Bleh!! Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 03/20/23 Full Review Matthew B This was a wonderful film that kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time. As a screenplay writer this was one of my favorite films of all time. Lots of truth and well thought out. LOVED IT!!!!!!! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/17/23 Full Review David V The movie was boring and slow moving. The lines were shallow and boring. Do not see this film. It is a complete waste of time. There is not one redeeming factor in this film. Pure boredom that makes absolutely no sense, and has no purpose.
