Junji Ito's G Interesting topic but the dialogues are horrible. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 12/05/23 Full Review troy k It wasn't anything great, but these reviews are damning...and I kind of liked it. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member The first half of the movie is not something to die for (all day every typical problems we have). But at the end it moves you. Some of us don't want to see movies that reflect our lives, but to those who don't mind then its a good enough movie to watch. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/07/23 Full Review Audience Member Mitchell and Monaghan make this movie tolerable, but the story is unbelievable. Their quirky relationship is a bit of a mess, but it makes for an almost entertaining watch. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/13/23 Full Review Audience Member This was a good movie, despite being low-budget, and no-name actors. Some VERY funny parts, and real-life situations. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/13/23 Full Review Audience Member There's a reason that no one has heard about this little seen, little heard from independent film. While the trailer presents this as a strange dramedy about the intricacies of friendship and adoption, there's very little comedy involved. The characters in this film are all narcissistic a-holes, especially Andie (Monaghan). Andie says some horrible things to all characters involved, and then gives a haughty laugh like it's part of her quirky humor, rather than her being a terrible person. She's just mean-spirited and spiteful throughout, and the fact that the film tries to pass that off as comedy only makes it that much less funny. The other characters are no better. Lizzie (Mitchell) goes along with everything Andie says, and she doesn't exhibit any character development, and there's no insight into her relationship with her husband. By the end there's supposed to be some form of growth in their relationship, which wasn't evident throughout the rest of the film and comes off as shoehorned in. Casey (Weston) and Peter (Dore) are brothers, but they act like lifetime enemies, and there's no explanation for why they treat each other like this, except that Casey is an addict. Every action taken by every character comes off as wrong, every sentence sounds awkward, and every moment is agony to sit through. Joe Leydon Variety Hardly a bundle of joy. Dec 9, 2013 Full Review Kimber Myers The Playlist Give us farts, but please make them funny ones. Rated: D Dec 7, 2013 Full Review Dan Callahan RogerEbert.com A fairly laidback movie that isn't serious and isn't funny and isn't much of anything. Rated: 1.5/4 Dec 6, 2013 Full Review Stephen Saito Moveable Fest There's a lot to be said for such an effortlessly graceful pairing when so little is usually said about such strong female friendships on the big screen. Dec 4, 2018 Full Review Neely Swanson Easy Reader (California) "Expecting" is not a bad movie; it's just not a very good one. The director's intentions are clear enough but the execution never reaches the expectation. Sep 16, 2017 Full Review Zach Hollwedel Under the Radar The weak characterization combined with tonal inconsistencies, by-the-numbers plot structure, and poor writing, create a film that fails to draw its audience in.
