Michael O'Malley (Philip Needs) is an Irish Catholic boy who forms a close friendship with Rachel Mathias (Loretta Parry), a younger Jewish girl. At first, the two are ignorant of their religious differences until schoolmates raise the issue to Michael. The two friends decide to attend each other's religious services, and each enjoys learning about the other's faith. When they have an adventure on a raft, an accident causes Michael to realize how much he cherishes Rachel's friendship.

08/28/2012 Warm little film explores the differences of religions through a child's viewpoint. See more 05/16/2010 A FANTASTIC move from my childhood! Everything about this movie is great. Even in today's society, this movie is a must see for all, especially children. A great story of friendship and the struggles of two different religions and views the two kids have. See more 10/21/2007 I thought this was just a sweet movie after first viewing it. But, after receiving a brief history lessons about the role Christianity played in the Crusades, I can only imagine how controversial this movie might have beein in 1960.
