Matt Zoller Seitz RogerEbert.com [Desmin's is] a superior lead performance, fully invested and with a lot of sly shadings. Rated: 2.5/4 Oct 30, 2024 Full Review Randy Myers San Jose Mercury News Written with compassionate perception by Jen Cordery and directed with a facile touch by Matt Cascella in his feature debut should find many in the audiences wagging their tails in approval. Eileen O An indie rom-com about a couple who move from NYC to Maine with their beloved dog. When the successful tech entrepreneur girlfriend goes away on business, floundering boyfriend Walter loses track of their dog and goes on a funny and endearing small town adventure to find him. This film gets the Maine setting and casting perfectly spot-on (the neighbor lady is my favorite), and the comedic performance by Walter (Desmin Borges) is excellent. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/22/24 Full Review Susan B A very enjoyable film - I even laughed out loud! Unusual these days…. Poor Walt and all the interesting characters he meets on his quest to find his dog make for an entertaining and heartwarming story with depth and intelligence. Don’t miss it! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/26/24 Full Review Jamie Lynn C What a relatable film! Watching Walt go through his mishaps felt like it came from my own brain at times. It’s so funny whilst hitting on deeper emotions (don’t worry, it all ends well). I’ll be putting this one on my repeat list! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/26/24 Full Review Andrew C Funny, heartwarming movie about real people with real relatable quirks and struggles. One of my faves of the year and one of the only films I’ve seen about what it’s actually like to live with a “neurodivergent” brain! Also we need more movies about Mainers! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/26/24 Full Review Chris F A true indie gem! Matt Cascella and Jen Cordery’s filmmaking debut hits in all the right spots. A funny, honest, and endearing exploration into self-worth, and what it takes to finally allow yourself the opportunity to feel comfortable in your own skin. Desmin commands the screen and leaves you wanting more! Treat yourself. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/25/24 Full Review Julia R This was an absolute must-see! The characters and the story were incredibly moving while capturing the hilarious side of Walt on his adventure through Portland. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/25/24 Full Review Read all reviews
