Marie K I used to watch this movie on the regular and never get tired of it and only for the fact i was a boy crazy obsessed teenager lol. I thought one of the actors was cute, but anyways that's besides the point. I really think this movie lacked realitistic values, but if you want a fun film that's not based on reality and want a good laugh, you must watch this one, but know going in don't expect anything amazing. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 04/04/23 Full Review Audience Member The film runs like mystery and you are kept in suspense of "whodunit" until the end! Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/14/23 Full Review Audience Member Pretty lame, nonsensical, and poorly made. Another movie genre Christians failed at. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Audience Member This feels like a slightly Christian episode of 'Goosebumps'. Production values and cast are fine, overall a strictly average affair. Surprisingly the author has a sizable role and is good! Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/27/23 Full Review Audience Member I'm SUPER afraid of spiders!!! In that aspect...this movie scared the crap out of me. Other than that...it was pretty dumb. I watched it years ago. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/26/23 Full Review Audience Member I love this movie! It's so intriguing and griping and keeps you on the edge of your seat! It's a very good representation of Frank E. Peretti's book! It was very well done and acted, I love it! I'd suggest it to anyone. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/29/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Matt Weitz Dallas Morning News Glacial pacing and a series of highly unlikely plot contrivances manage to obscure positive attributes and leave you feeling like you've just seen a rather mediocre TV movie-of- the-week. Rated: C- Sep 11, 2003 Full Review Lou Carlozo Chicago Tribune We definitely could use more wholesome teenage flicks, but Hangman's Curse is just plain hokum -- not so much for the values it tries to convey, but the slipshod way it conveys them. Rated: .5/4 Sep 11, 2003 Full Review Jeffrey Overstreet Christianity Today ... [these] are Christian filmmakers stooping to use the same manipulative storytelling tactics that anti-Christian filmmakers often use to express their own bias. Rated: D Sep 19, 2007 Full Review Todd Hertz Christianity Today The film does keep viewers' attention, and has some shining scenes. But it might also leave readers wondering how a pretty good book ended up as a not-so-great movie. Rated: 2/4 Sep 25, 2006 Full Review Blake French Filmcritic.com Unless you suspend all rationality, The Hangman's Curse makes little sense Rated: 3/5 Mar 16, 2004 Full Review Frank Swietek One Guy's Opinion The story makes little sense, while offering few surprises and even fewer scares...it might be a cinematic act of faith for some, but simply as a movie it's a travesty.
