Nothing really to gripe about, nothing too exciting either. Typical eighties. Forgettable and unoriginal. Doesn't add anything to the genre. Mildly entertaining eighties horror. Certainly not the worst.

Fake us out then jump on us! Nice! But is J. Lee deliberately taking things that step (mile) too far? You think he's thrown every slasher cliché at it - only this is '81, they're barely cliché yet - it's just his black humour! Good character development, polished direction - natch - and we keep the twists and turns coming. It's actually quite a clever little flick; it may be the start of his slide, but there are some grand deaths and a fucking insane finish.

3/5. I pretty sure I lost some sanity watching this film. It doesn't make any sense and my brain hurt trying to figure it out. That said, I was very entertained. This film is a puzzle I don't think anyone can solve.

[J. Lee] Thompson pinned the crime on a different culprit, making for a ridiculously entertaining, if not entirely credible ending, though credibility doesn't appear to have been the goal in a slasher with more comic moments than most.
