Nick Schager Lessons of Darkness A camp-tastic footnote to the late-'70s, early-'80s slasher flick craze. Rated: C+ Jul 10, 2006 Full Review Paul Lê Bloody Disgusting Happy Birthday to Me eschewed convention long before metatextual stories and increasingly intrepid sequels became the norm for the subgenre. Rated: 4/5 Jul 21, 2023 Full Review Kathy Fennessy Video Librarian Magazine [J. Lee] Thompson pinned the crime on a different culprit, making for a ridiculously entertaining, if not entirely credible ending, though credibility doesn't appear to have been the goal in a slasher with more comic moments than most. Rated: 3/5 Jan 19, 2023 Full Review Matt Brunson Film Frenzy Although it was released when slasher films were already becoming a dime a dozen, this does enough different to marginally stand out from the pack. Rated: 2.5/4 Oct 30, 2022 Full Review Alan Jones Starburst There is only one line on the poster of Happy Birthday To Me that you should take very seriously — Pray you're not invited. Jul 27, 2022 Full Review John Noonan FILMINK (Australia) A cult favourite to many due its black sense of humour and nonsensical ending, Happy Birthday to Me will be a bewilderment to others for exactly the same reasons. This Old G Saw this movie in the theater when it was released! It was just okay. Your typical slasher movie with a denouement that was completely preposterous. If you have a fondness for 80's slasher flicks this is one that I would recommend checking out if not just for curiosity's sake. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 10/24/24 Full Review Jonathan O Happy birthday to me is a fun bloody birthday slasher teen horror film with great cast and wicked special make-up effects however it feels long and the script doesn't make sense but it's fun for everybody's upcoming birthday to check it out. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 10/01/24 Full Review KerryWhite's S Rating: 7/10. 70/100. | SPOILERS! What a hell of an ending of twists and turns! Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 09/19/23 Full Review michael b This Is Outstanding horror movie,A Real Classic, Absoulity Love'ed It.🌟🌟🌟🌟 Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/24/23 Full Review Gavin E Boring, overly convoluted, way too long, a very forgettable slasher despite some decent moments. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/21/23 Full Review justin t Nothing really to gripe about, nothing too exciting either. Typical eighties. Forgettable and unoriginal. Doesn't add anything to the genre. Mildly entertaining eighties horror. Certainly not the worst. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Read all reviews
