Audience Member The movie is about a taboo subject of the relationship between a teacher and a student, not sure what they were trying to portray as it's not a moral movie or critical of the subject, for sure it's not an entertaining subject. There are laughs infused with the addition two young boys and their antics in coming with schemes for one of them to confess his love. The movie should have taken either the direction of a fun movie or taken a hard-hitting social stand on underage relationships, instead it just full of vague interpretations. Performance of all the cast members especially the young ones was good, still not sure if it will be enjoyed by a general audience. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/13/23 Full Review Audience Member This movie deserves to be watched at least once. Getting released for a movie on such a social topic, which is not supposed to even talk upon in our society. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/13/23 Full Review Audience Member The subject and the treatment are both too nuanced for the Indian audience. It is an acquired taste. It's not everyone's cup of tea. Both Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Sweta Tripathi are outstanding actors. It's a sheer pleasure to watch them execute these difficult characters. I'm so glad that Indian cinema is growing and exploring new stories. And at the same time not shying away from dark topics. Kudos to director Shlok Sharma and the Phantom team. Udita Jhunjhunwala Firstpost I didn't feel for any of the characters and I was let down by this emotional disinterest. Rated: 2/5 Jun 19, 2018 Full Review Namrata Joshi The Hindu While Sharma sets the stage well, the narrative does get disjointed in places. Jun 19, 2018 Full Review Rahul Desai Film Companion The final ten minutes resemble a sequence straight out of a modern-day Ramgopal Varma film - plain lazy, copout storytelling with an urgent burst of misplaced music drowning out the overall ambience. Rated: 2.5/5 Feb 5, 2019 Full Review Saibal Chatterjee NDTV Haraamkhor isn't a ground-breaker, but it certainly is worthy of applause for its fearlessness and for the impressive quality of the acting. Jun 19, 2018 Full Review Renuka Vyavahare The Times of India The jumpy narrative leaves a lot unanswered, making you feel indifferent towards the characters...Haraamkhor shows a lot of promise but ends up being way too vague to be hard-hitting. Jun 19, 2018 Full Review Rachit Gupta Filmfare Its social relevance aside, that the film manages to sneak in humour, slice of life and drama into such a complex and hard hitting subject is its true triumph.
