Blu B You DeLuise actually isn't that bad here and probably the best thiing. He's giving it his all but there is so many problems here no one of any sex could make something good out of this. The plot and jokes are just major strikes against this right out of the gate. Once everyone arrives in the mansion it feels like stuff just happens. Terribly unfunny, boring, and nonsensical stuff just happens. The gags detract from any sense of a cohesive plot. This just pancakes on itself and becomes completely incoherent. It's terribly jumpy also and very hard to follow at all. The direction also is just ok at best and subpar at worst. The lighting in this feels so cheap and amatuer like. The castle itself in the big rooms feels so empty and the colors are so dull. Honestly probably would've looked better in black and white. The editing and pacing are terrible and everything else is just subpar. The musical numbers aren't funny at all and are so out of place. The dialouge in general is terrible as well. Skip This. Just a complete disaster in pretty much every aspect. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 07/15/25 Full Review Audience Member For this cast and genre of comedy, this movie is GOLD!! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/17/25 Full Review tamara e You guys are all crazy and obviously have a piece of happiness missing within you somewhere to be giving this movie any less than 5 stars. Sometimes you just have to relax and maybe take life a little bit more lightly because this movie is a gem. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/22/24 Full Review Mitchel M It's an excellent movie specifically because of its quirks...if that makes any sense lol. I can understand why it didn't get a lot of support when it was released, but now 38 years later I think it has a charm of its own. It's a wonderful throwback to the golden radio age and it kind of tugs at you knowing the fate of one of the main stars not that long after. Am I saying you'll watch it over and over, likely not **but** everyone should watch it at least once 👍 Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/08/24 Full Review Ashley N Had the VHS since I was little. Brings back great memories of childhood. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/07/24 Full Review Steve D fails as a Mystery, a thriller, and especially a Comedy.
