This story of rich teens way out of their depth is chilling and nicely played. But it feels like a cautionary after-school movie spiced up with sex and violence. Go to Full Review

Like Catherine Hardwicke's Thirteen, only with money, this is an engaging and frequently tense teen drama with a full-on performance from Anne Hathaway. Go to Full Review

Despite the high-powered credits... this slight cautionary tale about slumming rich kids is a minor effort. Go to Full Review

Frans B @FransB Aug 29 Off beat to say the least. Quite enjoyed it, Anne Hathaway shows her talent and potential clearly in this character. The handheld camera is sometimes a little over the top, but otherwise okay. See more May 11 What a shambles and a shameful use of seller talent! Great actors hamstring by wooden lines, lousy ‘hand held’ camera action that instead of setting the scene, just made me feel nauseous, and a ridiculous plot structure where Asians are the villains and are dispensable, and can’t even hit a target with a an automatic weapon from a few meters away, but a couple of corrupt cops can wipe out scores of villains with only a handgun, and the female characters are poorly written tropes in the vein of crazed lesbian assassin, or rookie cop who is somehow propelled to action hero within a few short scenes - I mean give me a break, the whole thing left me feeling nauseous and I’m pretty sure I vomited in my mouth just a little! See more Ramona D May 7 It's spectacular! I live for Netflix to show spectacular fantastic shows and movies! This one did not disappoint !! I really enjoyed it! I watched it twice thank you Netflix for sharing this great movie!! Talk about Exciting!! See more Elizabeth S 12/31/2024 Despite all the other reviews I enjoyed this film. This film highlights the separation of wealth within a same city. White girls living in LA not to far from the “ghetto” which has been gentrified. These girls wanting to experience something different and new than their daily norms. They get into some trouble and they end up in a bad situation due to their actions and decisions. Men taking advantage of them because of their curiosity and desire, then these men facing the consequences. I’m Mexican aswell and from LB. I know the hood and how it be, but I also know girls who have money who also are curious about it. Although they made the decision to get involved with these men, it does not give these men any right to just do whatever they want to them. I really did enjoy this film and how it highlights the differences in culture, economic and social norms of how society is seperated. See more dave s 08/02/2022 It's probably safe to say that Anne Hathaway accepted her role in Havoc to avoid being typecast as the good girl in family-oriented, G-rated films. It all sounds great in theory but, in practice, it probably didn't help her career in any way. It's the story of a bunch of affluent white kids and their suburban gang, filled with members who walk, talk and behave like inner-city kids…until they get into a dispute with the inner-city kids, resulting in their lives unravelling faster than they could have ever imagined. While the movie has its fair share of problems, the main one is the fact that it's impossible to care about any of the characters since not a single person in the movie has anything that in any way would resemble a redeeming value. Havoc is one of those rare movie oddities, a film that is so irritating at times that it's hard to watch. See more Read all reviews
