Mel I A flawless, evocative and richly satisfying look at the life of Willy DeVille, a man of many voices; a man of many looks. This documentary takes us through Willy's illustrious career, his ups and downs, his second, third, and fourth chances, and shows us that Willy was an unapologetic genius who didn't tolerate nonsense, and who dedicated his life to creating and performing some of the best music ever to grace this planet. He was a passionate, driven man, who poured his heart out in his songs and in his performances, and he was sometimes held back by his addictions (cigarettes, alcohol, heroine, methadone), but he was always buoyed up and helped forward by his friends and wives. Check out this beautiful documentary, and, if you haven't already, buy as many Mink DeVille and Willy DeVille albums as you can get your hands on.
