Jamie Ludwig Chicago Reader One of the funniest buddy films of the year. Mar 12, 2020 Full Review Simon Abrams RogerEbert.com A cult hit waiting in the wings. Come for the brutal music, stay for the charming DIY optimism. Rated: 3.5/4 Oct 5, 2018 Full Review Michael Rechtshaffen Los Angeles Times Remains knowingly true to its quirky quartet and milieu even as the plotting runs off the rails a tad in the third act. Oct 4, 2018 Full Review Marc Burrows HeyUGuys A likeable and loud outsider comedy that has metal in its heart and its heart on its sleeve. Turn it up to 11. Rated: 4/5 Jul 27, 2021 Full Review Brent McKnight The Last Thing I See Jagged, scattered, unevenly paced and constructed, and occasionally uncertain in overall direction, "Heavy Trip" still delivers a damn fine time, peaking with moments of absurd metal glory, both for those who head bang and those who don't. Rated: B Jun 30, 2020 Full Review Emilie Black Cinema Crazed The film is fun the watch, the music heavy as it should be, and the whole thing is a riotous fun package perfect for a Saturday night out. Audience Member As a metalhead I can honestly say that this is the best movie ever! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/10/24 Full Review prawnda s this is a medium budget film with great music, pretty decent acting, some solid gags and an overall positive and fun-loving attitude. i'm watching it because i saw a trailer for the sequel which just released, and i am definitely going to watch them back to back today. in many ways this is like a more grounded, live action version of metalocalypse. if you enjoy metal music or silly humor then you should definitely check this out. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 12/04/24 Full Review acsdoug D The movie gets a bit silly towards the end, but up until that point it's very funny. I like metal, but I don't think that's necessary to enjoy the film. It's very funny guy humor. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 12/04/24 Full Review Elene N I didn´t know I liked heavy metal. Absolutely cool. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 08/09/24 Full Review Daniel K This movie works so wonderfully well, because the people who made this movie knows so well what's metal about metal. Which, in turn, enables them to makes jokes about metal that REALLY hits home. It's a love letter to metal fans that pokes fun at all the tropes of the metal scene. 🖤🖤🖤 Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/07/24 Full Review Gábor G Charming, goofy and heartfelt, a love letter to metal that works as a comedy as well.
