Audience Member You must help me kill him. Anita lives on a boring, desolate island with her abusive father. She dreams of one day leaving the island and living a life of luxury in Havana. One day the richest merchant on the island talks the father into promising Anita to him in marriage. The father wastes no time agreeing to the deal. Despite her arranged marriage, Anita won't stop reaching for the stars. "I couldn't marry a man with a face like yours for all the dresses in Havana." Henry King, director of Twelve O'Clock High, The Snows of Kilimajaro, The Song of Bernadette, Carousel, The Gunfighter, Untamed, and Pay Dirt, delivers Hell Harbor. The storyline for this picture is just okay and fairly cliché and straightforward. The acting was solid and the cast includes Lupe Velez, Jean Hersholt, and Gibson Gowland. "Any girl would be happy to wake up with her future husband." I grabbed this during the 2013 horror fest on Turner Classic Movies (TCM) and finally got around to seeing it. I was a little disappointed by this flick and thought it would be more interesting. The plot was pretty bland and just okay. Overall, I wouldn't really go out of my way to see this. "See how happy you make me." Grade: C Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/19/23 Full Review Audience Member good pre-code pot-boiler Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Read all reviews
