      What to Know

      Critics Consensus

Hercules has Brett Ratner behind the cameras and Dwayne Johnson rocking the loincloth -- and delivers exactly what any reasonable person reading that description might expect.

Georgan G 3.25 stars. Much better than I thought it would be. If you like wars of the ancient Greeks, you will love this. Johnson did a really good job of stunts & acting. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 04/07/24 Full Review Amir A Dwayne Johnson & Rebecca Fergurson are fine in their roles however this movie can get boring a lot of times. its very silly just like Thor: Love and Thunder but worse and the action & cgi is pretty awful. the only good scene is the final fight but overall Hercules(2014) has a rushed plot, boring story that feels a copy & paste of Gladiator & The Story of Samson and some poor dialogue. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 03/24/24 Full Review Randy W A new take on an old story, humorous, and if you like The Rock, you will enjoy this. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/05/24 Full Review Alayna D I started watching this movie on long car rides when I was about 12, I still watch it everyday I love how intense the movie is. Some of it is kinda weird but that's what makes it good. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/20/24 Full Review Derek M I LOVED THIS MOVIE, IT WAS THE GREATEST HERCULES MOVIE EVER MADE Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/06/24 Full Review Francisco A One of the worst movies i ever seen and probably the worst depiction of Hercules of all time Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 07/14/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Udita Jhunjhunwala Livemint The battle scenes between rival armies are ambitious and long, with a body count to rival 300, but Ratner's unremarkable direction offers no surprises. Aug 14, 2019 Full Review Peter Travers Rolling Stone Everything Guardians of the Galaxy gets right with its mix of action and comedy, Hercules botches. Rated: 1.5/4 Jul 31, 2014 Full Review William Goss Austin Chronicle Ratner has fashioned an adequate action-adventure around Johnson's horse-heaving he-man, a hero who's still larger than life even after the legend has supposedly been stripped away. Jul 30, 2014 Full Review Keith Garlington Keith & the Movies It’s impossible to call “Hercules” a great movie mainly because it lacks originality and borrows too much from too many other films. Rated: 2.5/5 Aug 21, 2022 Full Review Dan Brightmore NME (New Musical Express) Dwayne Johnson dispatches baddies with Arnold Schwarzenegger styled one-liners. In it he's not subverting his persona, as he did in Pain & Gain, but he can still sneer his through a pay off with aplomb... Rated: 3/5 May 25, 2021 Full Review Tony Asankomah GhMovieFreak Even though the movie builds up and progresses at a slow pace it doesn't leave you lost and wondering what happened or is about to happen.
