Critics Consensus

Here Alone may not suffer from an overabundance of narrative substance, but it offers enough post-apocalyptic action to satisfy.

Dennis Harvey Variety Though there's not a whole lot of plot here, Ebeltoft makes a virtue of writing economy, and director Rod Blackhurt maintains considerable interest as well as a consistent low hum of tension. Apr 3, 2017 Full Review Jeannette Catsoulis New York Times Given the familiarity of its premise - a handful of survivors brave the aftermath of a deadly, rage-inducing virus - "Here Alone" is unexpectedly engaging. Mar 30, 2017 Full Review Noel Murray Los Angeles Times This is the first act of a better movie, stretched to fill a feature. Mar 30, 2017 Full Review Bobby LePire Film Threat The plot of Here Alone is straightforward, meaning that it is easy to figure out where things are heading. However, the characters are quite realistic, and the setting is perfectly realized. Rated: 8.5/10 Apr 8, 2022 Full Review Erik Childress eFilmCritic.com As the flashbacks are dribbled out right up until the final scenes, we are asked to project ourselves back into behavior and decisions made by Ann as a result of her obvious trauma. The problem is that no such convergence exists. Rated: 2/5 May 18, 2021 Full Review Jonathan W. Hickman The Newnan Times-Herald "Here Alone" achieves its success by keeping the story restrained and straightforward. Rated: 7/10 May 15, 2021 Full Review Read all reviews

Emilliano Jr S It may be decent, but the slow pacing makes it boring. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 10/16/24 Full Review Matthew B Decently put together film with a fairly tense atmosphere, but has no real substance... at least not as much as the film would like you to believe. Still, the acting is good and the zombies are somewhat unique / scary. Worth a watch so long as you don't set your expectations too high. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 10/08/24 Full Review Carlos M Good post-apo movie. I am having a review of the genre: it's one of the best ones I watched so far! Rated 4 out of 5 stars 04/14/24 Full Review Jerod S Epidemic leads to zombie apocalypse and she's out in the wildnerness with just her daughter. Tense, yes. Original, not so much. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 10/14/23 Full Review Patrick S Shines above other movies in the genre. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/12/23 Full Review Gianmarco R This film is full of problems, first of all the plot is the usual one of many films on the same line and is full of logical holes and senseless parts, but above all this film is very boring and never manages to really pick up rhythm and become entertaining.
