Audience Member Very surprising, effectly thriller. Not only is it extremely well shot and scored, the acting is good all around (especially JJL) and the narrative is good enough. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/13/23 Full Review don s From the horrid southern accents (Leigh's was the worst) to the dreadful special effects to the suspenseless story that tries to throw a twist in but winds up back where you knew it would go, this movie screams loser. On the plus side, Jennifer Jason Leigh gets nekkid, a lot. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Even though this is a really old movie, I loved it. It had a good cast of characters in the plot & a 'who done it?' feel to it. Things are not what they appear to be? Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/20/23 Full Review Audience Member ghostly supernatural thriller set in the deep south with some good characters and a great dog. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/26/23 Full Review Audience Member This was the first movie directed by Bill Condon, and it is a little odd, and took me a couple times watching it to get the drift. Listening to his commentary last night, even he says the movie is not very good, which is surprising to say the least. It's a strange gothic murder mystery, about two sisters that live alone in a big house, that they now turned it into a Bed & Breakfast. The younger sister, a very very beautiful Jennifer Jason Leigh seems a little off center, and her older sister appears to be taking care of her. This movie which takes place in the New Orleans bayou area has a lot of character and excellent set pieces. When a visitor, Eric Stoltz, comes for a stay, things get pretty creepy and the murders begin hiding a secret which comes out in the end of course. With shades of Hush Hush Sweet Charlotte and Whatever Happened to Baby Jane, this gothic chiller misses the mark most of the time, but is still a decent watch, for no other reason than Jennifer Jason Leigh. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/05/23 Full Review Audience Member Worth it for my JJL, but it will never be mistaken for a good film Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/20/23 Full Review Read all reviews
