Roger Ebert Chicago Sun-Times Why is it that good movie ideas are always being interrupted by goons with guns, and obligatory chase and fight scenes, just when we would actually be interested in how the characters were really feeling? Rated: 2/4 Jan 1, 2000 Full Review Hal Boedeker Miami Herald For once, though, a teen movie where obnoxious nerds and general dimwittedness usually reign supreme, displays refreshing wit and recognizable emotions. That is no small feat. Rated: 2.5/4 Aug 17, 2021 Full Review Kevin Carr 7M Pictures this movie is fun to watch, but mostly as a way to remember the fashions and styles of 1980s high school Rated: 2.5/5 Apr 28, 2009 Full Review Caffeinated Clint Moviehole A fun, fast comic-thriller that serves the talents of Cryer magnificently Rated: 3/5 Mar 11, 2006 Full Review Emanuel Levy EmanuelLevy.Com Rated: 2/5 Aug 11, 2005 Full Review Walter Chaw Film Freak Central Rated: 3/5 Jul 31, 2003 Full Review Read all reviews

Steve D It works surprisingly well all things considered. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 09/01/23 Full Review StephenPaul C LOL, the funniest 01 hour: and 38 minutes ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/17/23 Full Review Audience Member A rather worthy adversary in a Jon Hughes era. Surprised this is not in the Bueller and Ridgemont High tier. Cryer gives a fresh and believable performance Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/15/23 Full Review Audience Member Cryer is good as the stockbroker who must go undercover at his cousin's high school. It's not believable but it's still fun to watch. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/20/23 Full Review Audience Member This is one of my favorite movies of the '80s, Jon Cryer coming into his own as an underappreciated and underutilized fringe member of the Brat Pack. Escaping my life and reinventing myself had already been a dream as a kid, adolescent, and teenager; and remains so thirty two years later. Cryer's performance was tops. Combining drama with touches of action is a great genre mix. The movie, though well rated by audiences, is still underappreciated. I hope it makes a comeback, along with hundreds of other forgotten gems. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/19/23 Full Review Audience Member Stock broker becomes a mob target and goes into hiding posing as a student at his nephew's high school where a budding romance with a student almost goes to uncomfortable territory. He would have had a better chance of going undetected if he didn't dye his hair purple and blonde. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/13/23 Full Review Read all reviews
