Randy Myers San Jose Mercury News Lean, tidy and efficient comedic spy thriller. Rated: 3/4 Dec 21, 2022 Full Review Joe Leydon Variety “High Heat” is a hoot. Dec 16, 2022 Full Review James Verniere Boston Herald Do Kurylenko, Johnson and costars make High Heat worth seeking out? Not really, but they certainly make it a lot less painful. Rated: B- Feb 15, 2023 Full Review Daniel Gorman In Review Online The new High Heat isn’t amongst the true, bottom-of-the-barrel efforts — the cast is mostly solid, it’s got some genuine production value, and there’s credible fight choreography — but its deficiencies ultimately outweigh its virtues. Dec 23, 2022 Full Review Nadir Samara Screen Rant The cast is full of familiar faces, but even they can’t save High Heat. Though well-constructed, there isn’t anything special about the film. Rated: 2/5 Dec 18, 2022 Full Review Monique Jones Common Sense Media Some scenes, played for comedy, go on too long, and the jokey scenarios and dialogue become annoying. This, on top of the film's by-the-numbers aspects, mean that High Heat can be surprisingly boring despite its high number of fighting/action scenes. José Luis A Fun, simple and entertaining, just what you need to relax and enjoy a night at the movies. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/04/24 Full Review Lloyd S Murder is not something to put in a comedy. Not funny at all and sometimes makes your eyes rolls up to the sky. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 12/15/23 Full Review David G It's like Home Alone with the KGB Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 09/21/23 Full Review R 9 A bad, bad, bad film. I hadn't watched a movie in well over a month and 'High Heat' turned out to be the one that I chose to try and get 'back in the groove' with... quite the poor decision in hindsight! Everything about this is just simply awful, the only part saves it from an even lower rating is the run time - 20 minutes longer and it'd be 1/10 from me, easy. Olga Kurylenko is the sole 'OK' part of this 2022 flick, she doesn't do anything wrong and performs alright given what she has to work with. Similar goes with Don Johnson. The rest are below average, at best. Worse, somehow, though is the Mimi/Tom/Becky/Kaitlyn family thing, genuinely some of the most annoying and uninteresting characters I've ever seen - severe eye rolls every single time they appeared onscreen, including for one painfully overlong car scene. It would be harsh to only call out the actors though, given they are only doing what they are requested to do of course. Zach Golden & Co. did just a weak a job as the acting talent. The dialogue is woeful, as is the humour, the editing, the pacing and probably anything else you could think of. A real disappointing attempt all round, unfortunately. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 08/04/23 Full Review John H As an action movie it wasn't good. As a comedy it works better. The best scenes are not actually the ones with the main characters in it. Mimi, Tom and their two daughters actually have the best lines. All the other characters are two dimensional apart from Anna. Olga does try but even she is hampered by a bad tongue in cheek action movie. Don't waste your time on this film. Either pock a better action movie or a funnier comedy. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 07/23/23 Full Review Lilly L Honestly one of the best played out movies I've seen a while! I'm not sure if it was in the movie theater but if it wasn't it definitely should have been! I can only hope this isn't the end to high heat and that there is a 2nd one. This movie I suggest to those who like a sweet but mysterious action with certain type of hilarious crazy. The ladies in remind me of harley Quinn personality. I like the actors in this and hope there a 2nd one. I'd give this a 10 out of 10 just wish it didn't end with so many what next as it was so good. The main lady reminds me of a lady John wick and I love John wick!! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/10/23 Full Review Read all reviews
