Sofia L Good movie tells a bit about history that you've never known before. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 06/04/23 Full Review mary jo P They took an important life and turned her into a melodramatic mess. Sappy "love" story about a genius painter . Where did they ever get that she binged ate when she was anxious. So disappointing save your money watch the documentary Rated 1 out of 5 stars 05/09/23 Full Review Adam O This is a sympathetic biographical dramatisation of the life and work of Hilma af Klint, showing the motivation behind her art, and her journey with Spiritism (spiritual and scientific and philosophy codified by Allan Kardec in the 1850s) and mediumship. Although a bit long in places, and some low budget blue-screen work, it carefully portrays the inspiration, relationships and trials of af Klint. Well worth watching if you have any interest in art, spirituality or mediumship. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 05/06/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Apr 14, 2023 Full Review Sarah Vincent Cambridge Day Instead, Hallström (“My Life as a Dog”) shows her through contemporary doubters’ eyes as a grief-stricken madwoman, making what could have been a richer delve dull and pedantic. Rated: 2/4 Aug 16, 2023 Full Review Loren King Newport This Week (RI) “Hilma” shows how the sexism and rigidity of the art establishment in her time made it difficult for an outsider and general oddball like af Klint to be recognized and appreciated. Jul 7, 2023 Full Review Dennis Harvey 48 Hills The visionary eccentricity of Klint’s art and life, which here encompasses speculative lesbian relationships, ends up feeling almost extraneous to a terribly conventional biopic.
