The talent of filmwriting put to the service of a harmful stereotypical film that distorts reality. The French doctors practice nepotism, are incompetent and selfish whilst the Algerian ones (and others) are super amazing and are exploited and pushed around by the evil system. Hard pass. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/15/23 Full Review Audience Member The explorations of the dark side of healthcare (administration) system in France (or even globally, in a sense). All realistic & inspiring, until the kinda fooling-around ending. Reda Kateb is doing all good here, although not quite identify with him playing the caring & principled guy. J. R. Jones Chicago Reader The movie's institutional politics are fairly pat, though the fear, suffering, and helplessness of the individual patients and their family members are rendered so concretely that the moral imperative is impossible to overlook. Sep 17, 2015 Full Review Alan Zilberman Washington Post There are few things more fascinating than when competent professionals disagree, especially if we appreciate the source of their impasse. Rated: 2.5/4 Aug 6, 2015 Full Review Peter Keough Boston Globe Lilti, himself a former doctor drawing from his own experience, includes telling details but can't summon a convincing tone. Jul 23, 2015 Full Review Michael J. Casey Michael J. Cinema A worthwhile study of the French health care systems with a few missteps. Rated: 3/5 Aug 27, 2021 Full Review James Verniere Boston Herald Vincent Lacoste is riveting as young intern facing personal and professional crises.
