Audience Member Absolutely hilarious, which is definitely not what the director intended. A golden example of poorly-executed benevolent racism. For whatever reason, despite taking place in the 1950s, the protagonist is anachronistically dressed for the Great Depression. Spoiler Alert: the punchline for the entire thing is that, despite the poor Black boy's limited means and his cruel treatment by a diner waitress, he chooses the smaller portion of French Fries in order to leave the waitress a tip, which touches her so deeply she begins to cry. Yes, that's right, the moral of this story is BLACK PEOPLE TIP AND OH MY GOD HOW TOUCHING. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 01/15/23 Full Review Read all reviews
