Nicholas Bell IONCINEMA.com Dymtryk, like it or not, is an important figure from the Hollywood Studio era, and he's most entertaining when he's working with sensational elements. Steve D Its heart is in the right place but it is an absolute mess. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 03/24/24 Full Review Audience Member Corny WWII era propaganda film is elevated by stylish direction by Edward Dmytryk before he broke out as a major film director and a typically strong performance by Tim Holt in the lead. The story involves a German-American girl who is forced to join the Hitler Youth. This film was apparently quite shocking in it's day and today still holds up as quite engrossing. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/31/23 Full Review Audience Member good WWII pic made during WWII Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Audience Member Melodramatic and naive, but well-meaning and interesting from a historical perspective. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/23/23 Full Review Audience Member Heavy going, quite over the top but understandable at the time. The performances tend to be melodramatic. It is however a fascinating slice of World War II propoganda. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/30/23 Full Review Read all reviews
