HOLD THE FORT follows Lucas and Jenny who think their life is finally coming together when the couple become homeowners. Little do they know that their new house comes with a big catch. Lucas and Jenny soon find themselves in a fight for their lives when they become trapped in a battle between their Homeowners Association and an onslaught of monsters from hell. The horror-comedy takes the timely concern of home-ownership and wraps this up in an entertaining action-packed thrill ride.

For good and ill, “Hold the Fort” has big Feature-Length Cracked Video energy, leaning hard into big, broad laughs and over-the-top gore with the kind of devil-may-care glee you need for low-budget productions like this.

I usually don’t like over the top cheesy satire movies but this was actually really well done. Very funny bits, the writing was great acting was good. It’s short so it moves quickly and You’re not really invested in any of it but it’s still a fun watch. Felt like the actors were in on the joke with us and had fun making the movie. Just the perfect amount of stupid to be hilarious and worth watching.

HOA from hell! Since becoming more involved in movie reviews a couple years ago, I've been able to gain quite a few great recommendations from people I look for. Hold the Fort is very short, very funny, pretty gory, and full of both practical and special effects. What a treat! My girlfriend always complains about her HOA. I have to try to show this to her! The practical effects in this a hilarious, and the special effects are not bad either. I love horror/comedies! Shout out to Wiccaburr on Letterboxd! Also, a Jiangshi modern retelling! (Oh, btw, you can call me McStubble from now on.)

Started off as a good idea but quickly veered into dull and basic D- rated comedy ‘horror’. Monsters were garbage, the casting of Lucas was a mistake they’ll never get back - what the hell were the reflection sections in there for? Comedy, a couple of laughs. Horror, not even slightly. We’ll never get that 1 and a bit hours back. Dont even waste yr money if you have to rent it.

Seems like some comedy writers got a budget and made a film. Comes off as an earnest, yet self-indulgent project. Similar to Evil Dead in camp, but fails to reach it in execution. You can see what the film wants to be when it grows up. A couple notches above a student film, the entire hour and 14min. was neither funny nor scary. Sorry, I didn't care for it. Perhaps I wasn't high enough.
