In this wildly unpredictable thriller, Nicole Kidman is the meticulous Nancy Vandergroot, a teacher and homemaker whose picture-perfect life with her community pillar husband (Matthew Macfadyen) and son (Jude Hill) in tulip-filled Holland, Michigan tumbles into a twisted tale. I was really looking forward to this movie, given the calibre of the actors but found the storyline mostly boring until we find out the husband is a serial killer. Given the evidence against him the husband would have easily been put in jail. It's just lame. The character's could have been fleshed out but no it was still tedious to watch.

The acting in this movie is great & this Nicole Kidman resurgence is now something I am on board for. While the plot is interesting & the misdirection is fun to investigate.. the pace of the move followed by some lack of detail may lose some people. If you’re not in a rush, this is a fun watch.
