Joe Leydon Variety The humor is often strained but the actors are always game in "Hollow Point," a modestly entertaining opus that tries to inject a "Moonlighting" style of levity into a routine action-adventure plot. Test T I watched this on DVD recently and loved it. Its a action, stunts, explosions, crime movie with a touch of moonlighting, a joker and a bond style villain thrown in for good measure. It reminded me how good movies used to be before CGI came along and ruined things. The story is action packed all the way through, so there's never a dull moment. The tit for tat romantic comedy between Max and Diane is great, whilst Garrett is highly entertaining as the likable mad assassin performing alongside (despite murdering a nice young innocent lady!). The story is full of twists and turns, and there are lots of interesting daytime locations to enjoy. Thoroughly recommended. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/31/24 Full Review Ken R Hollow Point – Point-Less Hollow is right, totally. This low-life trash is ideal for those whose taste may be where they sit. Even the explosions are so sensationalisticly ham-fisted that they killed one of the crew and injured others. There's always a certain audience that will fall for simplistic, crude violent nonsense like this, and the big-name stars who took the money and ran - must have been hoping no one would be silly enough to pay to see this turkey. Color and movement are all there is, with empty-headed poor taste, standing in for anything else. The script plays like it was written on the back of a chocolate wrapper during a drunken night out with mates. Watch at your peril (either some comments for this might have been written by the producers, or perhaps they paid others to send them?) Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 08/21/23 Full Review Audience Member One of the most entertaining action comedies around. You can easily see in most scenes how much fun the cast was having, portraying an incredible set of diverse characters. This was the first movie I saw where most characters didn't give a s--t, and the result is a light-hearted, funny flick. Too bad the lead, Thomas Ian Griffith went approximately nowhere from here, his Max Parrish was was hysterical. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/31/23 Full Review Audience Member A fairly mindless action thriller that is very pointless from start to finish. The only possible reason to even consider watching this movie is the rather hilarious performance by Donald Sutherland. Here he's a hoot and the only good thing about this film. Tia Carrere looks good, but acts bad. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/16/23 Full Review Audience Member John Lithgow....Donald Sutherland...c'mon! I believe I'm one of 2 people that own this DVD in the state of Iowa, which is a shame. The action is good, the plot is interesting, and the characters are...well, characters. One of my favorite movies! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/08/23 Full Review Audience Member Donald as usually plays wacko and as always is great at it!
