Audience Member There were some funny moments. I like movies that involve seeing the makings of a movie. But the plot was a bit of a disaster and boring. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/03/23 Full Review Audience Member Decent film about an insane movie production. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/27/23 Full Review Audience Member I didn't find the cast very appealing, it's a so so mock of movie making. Some very slow stretches big the film down, but it does have it's moments. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/18/23 Full Review Audience Member satirical look at the canadian cinema's relationship with the united states as well as the relationship between independent and studio movies. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/22/23 Full Review Audience Member Hollywood North loses bite, first by being exactly the kind of movie it satirizes. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/25/23 Full Review Audience Member I didn't expect much from this movie, and it was a bit annoying at first, but it turned out not so bad, and I actually enjoyed it. Geoff Pevere Toronto Star A curious artifact: A movie about an era that produced scores of movies most people never saw, and arriving nearly a generation after most people never saw them. Rated: 2/5 Jan 30, 2004 Full Review Liam Lacey Globe and Mail Hollywood North loses bite, first by being exactly the kind of movie it satirizes and by being so dated. Rated: 2/4 Jan 30, 2004 Full Review Chuck O'Leary FulvueDrive-in.com A terrible Canadian movie about the making of a terrible Canadian movie. Rated: 3/10 Dec 13, 2007 Full Review Jason Gorber Film Scouts A forgettable fluffy Canadian film about runaway production during the heady days of Tax Credit filmmaking in the late 70s. Rated: C- Jun 21, 2007 Full Review Pam Grady Reel.com There isn't a lot that is original about <i.Hollywood North, but Modine is appealing as the put-upon producer and the situation the hapless Meyers finds himself in is very funny. Rated: 3/4 Jan 13, 2004 Full Review David Nusair Reel Film Reviews ...the movie seems content to simply exist as a wacky comedy (how else do you explain the presence of Alan Thicke?), which is somewhat disappointing.
