Rowan C This movie was better than the fourth one but they keep dragging these movies on for no reason. The movie has to do with a family moving from California to Maine during the winter time because the Mom Catherine Baxter who is played by Ellie Harvie has a new job. The main character Finn Baxter who is played by Christian Martyn is obsessed with video games and these end up helping him in the long run. They might not know it, but there is a secret painting in the basement worth 85 million dollars and these group of thieves are trying to obtain it. When Catherine and Curtis the Dad who is played by Doug Murray go to a holiday party, the kids are left at home by themselves. While at home, Alexis the sister who is played by Jodelle Ferland uncovers a secret room beyond the safe which holds the famous painting. The parents are snowed in at the holiday party, and Finn has no choice but to defend his home while his sister is trapped. Finn takes care of all of the crooks and gives them a pretty good beatdown with some pretty cool traps. The crooks manage to capture Finn and get to Alexis but Mason the neighbor who is played by Peter DaCunha helps free Finn by knocking one of the crooks out with a snowball. Alexis tells Finn to activate plan B and this traps the other two crooks in the safe while the police were arriving. This whole time, Finn had a friend online that was trying to help and this name was Simon who is played by Bill Turnbull. The mother actually thought that Simon was the one kidnapping her children but everything turned out ok. Towards the end, Simon was rewarded with a ticket to see his family for Christmas and the Baxters were rewarded 4 free passes to the muesum for a year for finding the painting. There was also a extra reward for capturing the criminals that were already wanted and they recieved $30,000. At the end, everyone is happing getting all of their gits like Finn getting his expansion pack and Alexis getting her tablet with a pink case. Overall, better than the fourth one but these movies need to stop being made. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 12/31/24 Full Review Cudalbu R A brilliant movie that got into the Home Alone holiday spirit! Rated 3 out of 5 stars 12/27/24 Full Review Evan t I mean, if it was a Hallmark movie, it'd be good. But it thinks that it's a Home Alone, so it's not good.
