Critics Consensus

An inventive horror flick with provocative ideas about fidelity to go along with its unnerving frights, Honey Bunch remains thrillingly unpredictable to the very end.

This works most of the time and is flush with countless homages to other films and asks big questions about what we would do in desperate situations for those we love. Go to Full Review

In an era of stark division, not to mention demands for simplistic storytelling one can absorb while doing household chores, ‘Honey Bunch' revels in the uncertain, ungraspable, the neither-nor of it all. Go to Full Review

If only we could remember a film better than Honey Bunch, a film with the potential to push into psychological horror, but but is instead interested in the gore every other film is. A movie best left forgotten. Go to Full Review

Excruciatingly traumatic and too unbelievable to ignore. Stunningly shot through a stylish threshold of an arthouse thriller with slow churning suspense. Go to Full Review

Brenton D. @TheaterBat 3d Much like the torment of a psychedelic thought loop, Honey Bunch is a disturbingly gratuitous decent. Picturesque sets clash with gagging soundscapes to create extreme unease.  Gorgeous colors, powerful jump cuts with terrific practical effects, and shocking makeup. This picture is extremely pleasing to the eye but the film overall leaves you with a sense of early onset dementia. The vibes were off to say the least but that’s what they were going for. See more Raya B @RT73818659 4d Honey Bunch starts off feeling a little weird but that oddness is exactly what pulls you in. The entire film carries this eerie, unsettling atmosphere that lingers from beginning to end. The music and overall feel of the movie especially stood out to me cause it has these vintage, almost 70-style tones that feel nostalgic but also deeply creepy. It constantly keeps you on edge, like something is just slightly off, even when nothing obvious is happening. What makes the film work is that sense of unease. The pacing, the tone, and the strange events unfolding throughout the story make you feel uncomfortable in a way that’s clearly intentional. It’s not a typical horror movie that relies on jump scares. Instead, it builds a slow, psychological tension that creeps under your skin. I wasn't too crazy about the ending but overall it's a decent film! See more Angelina B. @angelinabud 6d I was confused alot of the time and the movie is just so weird... I dont know See more Vincent S @Vin_E_At_The_Movies Mar 2 The atmosphere here is great, creepy and the plot is promising at first, but this is overlong and meandering at the end and I lost interest. A little more control and editing could have made this great. See more Heidi L @Costume_CO Mar 1 Great Canadian indy horror flick. Ioved the retro 70s vibe. Highly recommend. See more Tracy K @TracyK7 Feb 26 I loved the 70s-ish, Gothic vibe, I loved the mystery of it and it was nice to have a thriller-type movie that wasn't completely predictable for a change. I enjoyed the acting and the humour, the kooky-ness and the competing messages about holding onto love and letting go. My attention was captured during the entire viewing. Highly recommend.
