Neil Jillett The Age (Australia) A bigger, costlier sequel in which the special effects are awkwardly choreographed, the giant props are unconvincing and the suspense is minimal. David P Lmao at the kid's reactions to being unstoppably large Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/17/24 Full Review Dale R The Szalinski family is back, but they have moved to Nevada so the previous neighbors are not in this movie. This time they end up increasing the size of the newer member of their family, a toddler named Adam. What the first movie had going for it was the set design and practical effects. Those are not really present in this movie. The son from the previous movie and his love interest get stuck in the baby’s pocket and that worked well. Other than that the special effects didn’t age well and practical effects were limited to camera angles. The absence of composer James Horner in this movie was very noticeable. The story itself isn’t as engaging as the previous movie, but if you enjoyed that one you might enjoy this sequel as well. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 07/07/24 Full Review Jonas S Nostalgic classic. The dialogue may be weak, but for 1992 this movie is a HUGE project. Probably won’t hold up for a newer crowd. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 06/19/24 Full Review Devlin E This is Honey, I Shrunk the Kids, but big. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 12/23/23 Full Review matthias s "Honey, I Blew Up the Kid" is a fun and lighthearted family comedy that delivers a few laughs, but ultimately falls short of being a truly memorable film. The special effects, while impressive for the time, have aged poorly, and the story feels a bit formulaic. Despite these shortcomings, the performances by Rick Moranis and Marcia Strassman as the bumbling parents are charming and will likely appeal to fans of the original "Honey, I Shrunk the Kids." It's a decent choice for a family movie night, but don't expect it to blow you away. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 11/09/23 Full Review Jeffrey M Honey I Blew Up The Kid was an okay movie. I watched it kind of a long time ago, so I don't have a clear memory of the movie, but I remember it was fine. The first movie was actually a bit worse. I remember this movie was a bit boring. Honey I Blew Up The Kids was a decent movie. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 07/19/23 Full Review Read all reviews
