05/10/2016 this is for the Hammer film starring Ralph Bates + Peter Cushing, for some reason Flixster has changed it into a page about some emo band See more 02/01/2014 (38%) A watchable murder thriller that gets by with a decent set of performances and good direction. It won't change the world, but it's far from terrible. See more 11/30/2013 A Hammer horror with a contemporary setting, but its nowhere near as edgy than the period pieces we are used to seeing pre-1970's - but with Peter Cushing and Joan Collins in the cast list it has a presence at least. See more 12/21/2012 The same title as the DeForest "It seemed as if my brain was handcuffed" Kelley vehicle but a very different beast; this is a late-period Hammer psychodrama with excellent acting (particularly Judy Geeson as Peggy, the mentally fragile girl who keeps getting attacked by a bounder in leather gloves - I suppose, as it's the early '70s, Alvin Stardust could be a suspect), some predictable yet satisfying twists in the tale, and a quite brilliantly eerie musical score by John McCabe. The Hammer film is a solid psychological-thriller with a decent twist the kind of which has been used replicated quite frequently in recent years. The cast was strong and the plot was better than some of the recent Hammer productions. See more 10/27/2012 Plodding and dated thriller.
