Roger Ebert Chicago Sun-Times The movie is sly and entertaining, but it could have been better. Still, it has its charms, and one is certainly the presence of Willie Nelson himself. Rated: 3/4 Oct 23, 2004 Full Review Janet Maslin New York Times This ought to be easily told, but somehow it isn't, perhaps on account of the movie's odd casting. Aug 30, 2004 Full Review Richard Freedman Newhouse News Service Honeysuckle Rose is not so much a movie as a visual gloss for the bestselling country-and-western records of Willie Nelson. Dave W Rotten tomatoes is not very reputable. In the very description of this movie they get it wrong. Slim Pickens character Garlands daughter is Bucks wife, not his mistress. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/15/23 Full Review ashley h Honeysuckle Rose is an okay film. It is about a country singer who is on the road and caught in a romantic triangle. Willie Nelson and Dylan Cannon give decent performances. The screenplay is a little slow in places. Jerry Schatzberg did an alright job directing this movie. I liked this motion picture because of the music and romance. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member CLASSIC WILLIE! I love this movie. So many stars in this...
