Audiences looking for a fresh take on this type of story will be sorely disappointed by its refusal to deviate from the norm. But those in the mood for a sweet, uplifting, faith-based film will find it a pleasant way to spend an hour and a half.

Hoovey is a great story, but despite the actual actors in this film, it fails to connect. Hoovey recovers from his tumor to play basketball, but nobody really seems to care.

An uplifting movie about a high school kid who battles through a brain tumor. Not a spoiler alert. It's in the film description! Watch if you're in the mood for something inspirational, family-oriented and faith-based.

A feel-good story of an athlete overcoming adversity to succeed when it appeared that it might be impossible. Based on a true story, but probably embellished for the purpose of theatrics which, in this case, works to provide the emotional kick wanted by the book on which the story is based.
