If you wanna see a film where a shallow girl who has cancer mentions she has cancer to everyone she meets like it's a badge of honor and then when she starts getting better, she bitches that she's not dying anymore all the while trying to lie and say she's still dying to all her friends, go ahead and watch this. If you rather not go through a headache, probably don't

Surprised about so many positive reviews. Really formulaic high school comedy, obvious from the second minute. Good acting from the lead (the rest very uneven) but these days we are getting a lot more creative solutions for this genre, that I appreciate. Cancer is different but not really *that* different at this point. The rest, about being popular and believing in yourself, not good. The videoclip at the credits is embarassing.

Even if it was a bit cloying and moderately cheesy, leaving a juvenile taste in one;s mouth. I can appreciate the sentiments and its attempts to depict a unique take on terminal illness and how remission could affect the susceptible mind of our average teenager trying to find herself once learning she isn't about to die after all. Just ignore some of the rather far-fetched elements to the plot. I wasn't buying into them either. [C] -- 57%
